In communities that have adopted the Stretch Energy Code, ABA performs energy modeling for new homes and additions to meet MA Stretch Code energy efficiency requirements. Using architect’s plans and mechanical equipment specifications, HERS certificates are prepared for builders to obtain building permits. Stretch Code homes are inspected during the construction process and tested at the home’s completion assuring the final home performance meets stretch code requirements. Duct and air infiltration measurements are taken using calibrated equipment following RESNET standards.

Final testing and inspection ensures compliance with Stretch Code requirements. Final HERS certificates are provided to the builder upon completion to obtain certificates of occupancy from code enforcement personnel.
